Though she may be from a galaxy far, far away, I think we can all agree that one of the most pleasant surprises (in a movie chock full of them) from Star Wars: The Force Awakens was the franchise’s new heroine lead – Rey.
And while we don’t yet know much about Rey’s lineage or back story, we do know that she’s one cool, tough chick. In fact, she may just be the perfect woman. Here’s a look at why:
She’s a total fox: First and foremost, Rey is very attractive. And let’s face it, her British accent only ups her sex appeal.
She’s independent: As guys, we hate it that we’re always saddled with taking out the trash or mowing the lawn. Then there’s Rey, who has basically been living alone on a desert planet all these years, doing what she can to make ends meet. She’s a bit of a loner, so she’s clearly had to be independent. We like a girl that can fend for themselves and isn’t always so clingy.
She’s tough: In The Force Awakens, Rey takes down Finn (before they become friends), takes out numerous Stormtroopers and TIE fighters, defeats a handful of Jakku thugs and even wounds and conquers the main baddie, Kylo Ren. Yeah, she’s one tough cookie – and she always has her friends’ backs.
She’s sensitive: Rey has a soft side too, so it wouldn’t be all butt kicking. You could connect emotionally with her as well.
She has super powers: Rey is clearly strong with The Force, which makes her a superhero of sorts. And this power could come in pretty handy, like when you don’t want to get up out of your recliner to get another beer or to get the remote from across the room. Just think of the possibilities.
No in-laws to deal with (yet): OK, OK – so we’ll probably find out who Rey’s parents are in the next Star Wars installment. But right now, we don’t know, so at least you can avoid the in-laws for a while.
