Hollywood is not known for its support for the enduring relationships between celeb couples.
In fact, celebs are more well known for their dramatic breakups that proliferate the acting scene. That being said, there are some couples who have — so far — beaten the odds against them and have lasted. Below, you’ll find out some of their secrets that might give you hope in the times when your own relationships could be a bit rocky.
1. Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick
With three kids and 18 years of marriage under their belts, it’s evident that Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are doing something right. Broderick acknowledges that — as cliché as it sounds — being friends and keeping the lines of communication open is their secret for a long-lasting relationship. Shifting to silence is not good for the relationship so he says that they keep talking. Additionally, he said Sarah is very funny and keeps him laughing.
2. Jasmine Tookes and Tobias Sorenson
As an “It couple,” Jasmien Tookes and Tobias Sorenson are used to being in the limelight. This might be why they put such a premium on keeping the private things private. This extends beyond their public facades though. Even between them, these young stars strive to maintain a bit of the mystery and keep the bathroom door closed. They also make sure to not get too comfortable. Instead of wearing sweat pants and t-shirts every day, they dress up and go on date nights.
3. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt
This superstar couple have had their share of the limelight — as well as arguments and challenges — but have more than ten years together. The pair cite an ability to overcome their differences and being able to fight fair as the primary reasons behind the longevity of their relationship. Using “I” statements keeps the focus clearly on emotions rather than having an argument become heated due to “You” accusations.
Of course, the above three couples are only a smattering of the ones who’ve enjoyed longevity in their Hollywood relationships. Who would you like to see highlighted next time and why?
